| Self Description | | I listen to the silence. Reverberating through the naked white poplars. The beginning of wisdom is silence. Then to listen. Such is our beginning to our transformation. Thought I knew a lot in life but came to realize I am still learning and I am willing to learn more of others and self. :) I am also secure with the knowledge life's experience has blessed me with and look forward to my continuing journey. Look forward to walking with others in this journey.
I am a Hunter and Fisher and these skills are understood to apply to being a Defender/Warrior and also a First Nations canoe carver. Member of the Beaver clan and Nak'azdli people in north central British Columbia and a descendent of Chief Kwah. I love the bush life (Lived in all my life and new to urban living ) and being on the water so I miss the great outdoors of my territory. While I am here in the city attending u/c, I am also learning of new people and ways, and I like being a student. I also volunteer at a local foodbank and enjoy time with my children. Freedom! I am blessed with the knowledge of the old native ways and hopefully can share with others. I have been in the construction work force as a Log builder/Carpenter for many years and enjoy working with wood (Now a student) Just a great handy guy to have around. Blessings :) I realize I'm not looking for anything other than getting to meet another and enjoy a new way of being and hopefully have trusting and honest communication with others that encompasses a broad spectrum of social injustices and issues and desire to share the need for awareness of Canada's long history of injustice and perhaps it is time for an Indigenous ideology within the political realm.
I am of the belief that our public sphere incorporates not only our fellow human being but also is inclusive of what is above us and what is below us, the birds, fish, and all living beings as being participants in life.
