| Self Description | | A little about me, I just graduated from VCU with my Masters in Social Work. I work for Hospice in Radford, VA and live in the mountains. Two wonderful dreams that came true this past year. I love working with people and have found a true passion in working with the terminally ill and their families. I tend to offer a sympathetic ear and I am compassionate which my friends and family have learned to trust. I also give straightforward advice and counsel when asked. I know how to take care of myself and am very independent but I genuinely enjoy taking care of others. I have a strong belief in the Lord and try to serve him every day through example and the ministry that is my work. I am very open to new beliefs and ideas but strong in the morals and values my parents have instilled in me. I feel content in my life. My dominant mood is upbeat, and unless life has been particularly trying for me, I greatly enjoy the richness and intensity of life that being so open with my emotions has brought me. I can be emotional at times but also can control my emotions when necessary. I am honest and patient. I believe in talking problems out however uncomfortable the conversation may be. I am continually seeking resolution. I am a hard worker and believe in constantly improving ones situation. I am disciplined and responsible, but also have something of a free spirit in me, and when this spirit moves me, off I go, following the impulse of the moment. I am pretty much comfortable with any group, family or friends because I am so relaxed and amiable. Whether the group is pumped up and lively or calm and subdued, I tend to remain at ease. If someone needs to take over the conversation, I am comfortable taking the lead; I can also lay back and let someone else be in charge. If the conversation gets rowdy, my moderate demeanor will often draw it down to a more temperate level. If someone in the group loses their cool, I will most likely maintain my poise, and if they get nasty I know how to keep a civil tongue. I do have a good sense of humor and I am usually positive all the time. I love to smile and find humor in every situation good or bad. I am a people pleaser but can be assertive when necessary. For the most part I would say I am independent and just generally love life. I am very laid back and just go with the flow. I am looking for a guy who is very social and enjoys being around people. A guy who is active in his church or community. Someone who is honest and patient, has a good sense of humor, but can be occasional sarcastic. I like a guy who is up for a good adventure and open to walking a bit on the wild side. A perfect match would be someone laid back who generally loves life and making the community a better place to live in. |
