| Self Description | | I love the Lord and praise Him for all that He has done in my life. I accepted Jesus as my Saviour when I was eight years old. As a teenager I played football, worked as a radio disc jockey and was president of my youth group. I accepted the call of God to preach His Word and have a college degree in Biblical Studies. I also have a doctorate from seminary. I have been a pastor for the last twenty-seven years. For the last few years I have been a single parent to my son and daughter. In spite of the challenges of single parenthood, life has been enjoyable with them. There have been times of humor, especially as I would find myself as the only man among women helping their daughters buy prom and beauty pageant dresses. There have been times of sadness as I tried to help my children understand why they never saw their mother after she left us. There have been times of pride and joy as I watched my daughter graduate from high school with honors and saw her perform on the dance team in her college band. My junior high son has also brought me great joy as I have watched him play football and run track. Although I am serious about the Lord and the ministry He has given me, I also love to have a good time. Christians should be the most joyful and fun-loving people anywhere- especially when you can wake up the next day and remember where you were the night before- without regrets! I love to laugh and make others laugh. I enjoy camping, playing golf, reading a good book, and traveling.
Life is too short to be lonely so my philosophy is to enjoy every day as a gift from God and be defined by your positive impact on the lives of others and not by the traumatic events that come into every life. |
