| Self Description | | When asked me what my perfect date I can't help but laugh and think it's May 23 because it's not to hot and not too cold. I know I stole that from Miss Congeniality but that is just what I think of when it comes to dating. I am not an expert at this dating and meeting people of the other gender because I have been waiting for the right one that Jesus sends along. I guess I figure God can move through this internet dating thing as well. I think when many people meet me for the first time, I can come across as intimidating because I am a 5? 12? (aka 6? woman) who is passionate about life and loving Jesus. As you get to know me you will see that I am can be incredibly goofy, compassionate, and have a lot of things that I don't have the answer to despite how I come across. I love to mentor college aged girls and love to talk about Jesus. I guess that is why I said I would love to go to coffee because it gives us a chance to talk and get to know each other. My favorite things to do include to go on dates with Jesus at the beach, to travel just about anywhere, and at times to just sit and read a good book that makes me think. I love to laugh and love to make others laugh. I love to take care of people and try to be a shoulder for others to lean on. There are times you will find me in front of the TV all day just because I needed a veg day but most of the time I am out for coffee with friends or serving at my church. I work as a Conference Planner which means I keep track of lots of little details and that I get the opportunity to serve many different types of people. I love my job but it can drain me and that is when I might start to feel a little low.
Right now I am going through a transition in my life where I used to see lots of things as black and white but I am now learning to love more than to see right and wrong. I am deeply impacted by writers like Phillip Yancey, John Burke, Shane Clairborne, and Donald Miller and long for the day that the Christian church is known more for how they love instead of being right. I dream of just being able to live a life of service whether in the United States or oversees and would love to just be able to give everything away but I haven't quite figured out how to do that yet. I love to see Jesus smile at me and that is what motivates me to live the way that I do but I still have a hard time when I think someone may not like me. People often say that I am a force to be reckoned with but I don't mean to come across that way and am deeply affected when I find out that I have hurt someone. I really do want to love like Jesus loved and live in relationship with God like Jesus did. I hope some day to have a relationship with God where He doesn't have to tell me what to do but I know what to do because I truly know Him. I hope that gives you a brief idea of who I am but to find out more you have to get to know me just like if it is how God leads I would love to know more about you. |
