Basic Information
| Self Description | | I am a rather typical single parent still raising two kids. The dishes, the laundry, the homework (all of ours), the running from work to school back to work back to practice back to work and melt into to bed at night. The smile may be fatigued, but authentic as I am slipping into my dreams of Lonesome Dove. My days start early (carry over from growing up feeding cattle and farrowing hogs) and a very late night is 10:50 p.m., but this has evolved out of neccessity. Make note I am no longer a spring chicken, but a seasoned hen.
It has been noted by friends and family that I am an atypical female, but with time and intense CBT they have all adjusted well. I would prefer not to cook, but my children do not allow for skipping meals so most are on the grill or smoker with potatoes and a veggie. Quick and to the point. I am comfortable in blue jeans rather than dresses; flannel rather than silk; and baseball caps rather than curlers. I avoid shopping when ever I can. (Bass Pro has a website so I'm covered) There is a set of bull horns hanging over my bed waiting for that 12 point buck to replace them and a buckskin blanket to keep my toes warm. I had the best christmas ever in 2007 as I received TWO new tree stands from my kids!
My children are one from each of my marriages. Their fathers are active in their lives and thus somewhat in mine. If you have a stigma about history mixing with present day events, I hope you will not find me rude as I bid you a good day and wish you luck some where down the line. I consider my kids blessed that all of their family can sit together at any event including christmas morning to share the excitment of Santa's overnight visit. Because of this history I was lead to find my way. I would be considered a new christian learning new ways of life. To be quite honest it is becoming the best ride of my life!!!
Our house is full of competition as all sports are enjoyed and many times participated in as a family. Please realize that my 6 year old's inability to drive a golf ball is only a matter of maturity, but she has been known to drop a putt as well as her 11 year old brother. (we just don't tell her it was luck) Our mini vacations are really only weekend adventures, but yearly include some big pro events sprinkled with local camping and any bullriding we can get ourselves to. I guess you could catogorize us as fans of action.
Please do not dismay I have some female attributes as well. I like flowers (hand picked from a meadow during a walk n talk session), I dream of possessing a very large rock some day (guess that one comes up in my dreams of owning a log cabin, it sits off the side of the drive), I do wear make up and a bra and adore the mornings I get to watch the sunrise with coffee in hand, silence in the air and the comfortable stare of an appreciative companion. (At this time it is Camo our bassett hound)
I am learning to surround myself with faithful friends, but I am struggling to find single friends of faith with similar appreciation for nature in my area. |
